A trading plan template should fit on a page. Include instruments, setups, entry conditions, invalidation, position sizing, daily risk limit, news rules, no-trade conditions, and the review process.

The plan is not useful because it predicts markets. It is useful because it limits improvisation when fear, greed, or urgency show up. Review it against actual behavior each week.

Use our pre-market checklist for the daily version and read how a trading plan reduces emotional decisions for the psychology behind it.
