What's your trading discipline score?

Six questions about process, not profit. A winning trade can still be a bad trade — this scores the part that actually repeats.

Short answer

Trading discipline is how consistently you follow your own predefined rules — entry criteria, position size, and exit plan — regardless of how the last trade went. It's measured by adherence, not by P&L. The score below is a quick read on yours.

01 The score

Six questions, scored 0–100

1. Do you have a written entry, exit, and risk rule set you actually follow?
2. Do you define your risk before entering, every time, without exception?
3. Do you only take trades that match your setup criteria?
4. Do you keep your stop loss where you originally set it?
5. Does a losing streak leave your position sizing unchanged?
6. Do you journal and review your trades regularly, win or lose?

02 What PnL App would show

A sample behavioral report

Discipline scored on process, not on whether the trade happened to work.

Setup grade · last 62 trades
A+6 trades100%+$1,840
A12 trades83%+$2,120
B+15 trades67%+$980
C+8 trades38%−$420
F2 trades0%−$620

Pnlee's read: A-grade setups (plan matched, risk respected, stop untouched) win 83–100% of the time. The two F-grade trades broke every rule at entry — and it shows.

03 A real pattern

What this looks like on an actual account

Composite example, from PnL App usage patterns

A clean setup, entered on plan, risk sized correctly. Then price went against it, the stop got moved "to give it room," and the trade turned into a hold-and-hope. It came back and closed green. On paper, a win. In the log, a rule broken that happened to get bailed out by the market — which is exactly the trade that teaches you nothing.

“A winning trade can still be a bad trade.

Score every trade, not just the P&L

Discipline, made default.

PnL App scores each trade on process — plan adherence, risk discipline, stop respect — so a lucky win never gets mistaken for a good decision.
